A highly accessible course, enriching both from a learning and sporting perspective, set in a town that lives and breathes “surf culture".
This packages includes:
- Lessons: 20 general French morning lessons+ 10 surf lessons per week
- Levels: beginner to advanced (see levels)
- Course begins: every Monday except for beginners (see dates)
- Timetable: 9.30 to 12.45 with a 15 minute break, Monday to Friday + 1.5 hours afternoon surf lessons.Times are subject to change according to weather conditions and tides.
- Duration: minimum 2 weeks with no time limit
French lessons: 12 general French morning lessons + 5 afternoon conversation classes
Surf lessons: 4 x 2h surf lessons per week

Surfing Lessons
- Tailored to suit the abilities and requirements of each participant. Classes are given by certified state-approved instructors from our partner school Hastea in Biarritz
- Groups: 8 participants maximum per monitor
- Location: the mythical Côte des Basques beach in Biarritz (5 minutes' walk from the town centre). The beach provides surfers with a wide variety of waves suited to different abilities. Classes are sometimes held at other locations depending upon weather conditions (transport is provided by the surf school)
- Equipment: supplied by the school (full-length or short wetsuits, boards)
- Transport: on the first day, an instructor collects you from BLS and takes you to the beach. On other days you make your own way to the location (20 minutes by bus).
- The practice of spoken French in communicative situations and a cultural approach to the language
- Development of linguistic proficiency (written and oral expression / written and oral comprehension / interpersonal communication)
- Communicative methods combining individual development and group dynamics (group work, role plays, etc.)
- Single-level groups, 8 to 14* students maximum, ensure easy participation and a true group dynamic as well as individual attention from the teacher
- French as a foreign language manual provided, authentic documents, audio/video, press, French songs, etc.
